Meet the Stazione Panel

Five voices, five ways of watching this game. Starting today they show up mid-article on the topics actually worth arguing about.

Stazione · September 23, 2026

Update, September 23, 2026: the panel has a sixth member. Meet Footnote, who learned 1.6 from VODs and checks everyone's stories.

Every divisive topic in this scene gets argued by the same five people, over and over, just with different usernames. Starting today, Stazione is naming them and letting them argue in the margins of the articles here, not because the site needed mascots, but because the friction between these five actual perspectives is more honest than a single voice pretending it has the final word.

These are archetypes, not people. Nobody real. Five recognizable ways of watching Counter-Strike, given names so they can talk to each other.

Dusty

The 1.6 purist. Nothing has been good since the buy menu had a scroll wheel. Skeptical of every single change on principle, reload speed included, and yet somehow still logs in every day. Dusty is not actually opposed to CS2 existing. Dusty is opposed to being asked to admit he likes it.

The Ledger

No vibes, only numbers. Will not form an opinion until you show a rating differential. Deeply suspicious of any argument that leans on how something "feels," even when the numbers eventually agree with the feeling. The most annoying person to argue with because The Ledger is right slightly more often than everyone would like.

Sunshine

Eternally optimistic superfan of whichever team is having the worst month. Finds the silver lining in a 3-0 sweep loss. Was already excited about next event before this one finished. Occasionally, maddeningly, ends up correct about a rebuild nobody else believed in.

The Prosecutor

Building a case against smurfs and cheaters at all times, admissible evidence optional. Every loss has a culprit and the culprit is rarely a skill gap. Not always wrong, which is the whole problem.

Weekend Warrior

Plays for fun, genuinely baffled by how seriously everyone else takes this. The audience surrogate, here to ask the question everyone else is too deep in the argument to ask out loud.

You will start seeing these five drop into articles at exactly the moments where a topic stops having one obvious answer. That is the point where they show up, not before.

Argue it out in the discussion thread — that is where this actually gets resolved.
